As we enter the month of May next week, I've had the pleasure of working on a couple of commissions, which I normally shy away from, but every once in a while, something dives right into my soul saying "PAINT ME".

That's what happened with this little blueberries painting. My collector's house is the same colors of mine (Grey, White and Sand with pops of color) and she LOVES blueberries as much as I do. Since I eat blueberries almost every single day, I've studied how they look with their greyish bluish purplish color and the marked definition from light to shadow in their necks. That's the part that makes the painting for me. I painted many of them about 5 years ago, and I welcomed revisiting them again. When paintings resonate and create joy during the process and for my collector, it makes my heart sing. This one sure did.

This little blueberries treasure will join the other fruit and vegetables I have been working on: lemons, grapes, strawberries and radishes! The lemons and strawberries have been posted on my website and are available for purchase but the grapes and radishes are still in progress.

Also newsworthy is that my painting "French Press and Eggs" has been juried into the American Artists Professional League for their spring online show and sale. You will be able to view the show beginning Wednesday April 26th on their website. The acceptance letters have gone out in the meantime with award announcements at AAPL Spring Online Show Awards
